Newly Released Footage Shows Capitol Police Escorting QAnon Shaman to Senate Floor on Jan. 6
Carlson, who was granted exclusive access by Speaker Kevin McCarthy to 40,000 hours of surveillance footage, claims that virtually every moment of Chansley's time inside the Capitol was caught on tape. The footage shows the Capitol police officers closely following Chansley, guiding him past other police officers, and eventually helping him open a door to the Senate chamber.
Chansley, who has been jailed for almost four years for obstructing an official proceeding, expressed regret for believing that it was acceptable to enter the Capitol when they were waved in by police officers.
However, this does not explain why Chansley was able to walk past seven more officers without being apprehended.
Carlson argues that the footage demolishes the Democratic Party's narrative of January 6th as an insurrection. He plans to air five stories based on the footage over two nights, including footage which he says debunks the claim that Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was murdered by rioters. Carlson claims that controlling the images allowed to be viewed from January 6th allowed the Democratic Party to control how the public understood the day and created a pretext for a federal crackdown on opponents of the uni party in Washington.
