AEW Revolution 2023: Recap, Winners and Highlights

On March 5th, Bleacher Report covered the first major All Elite Wrestling event of 2023: AEW Revolution. The event featured some of the biggest stars in the company and a stacked card of title matches and stipulations.

Zero Hour Match: Penta and Rey Fenix team up with Mark Briscoe to take on Daivari, Tony Nese and Josh Woods. Briscoe and the Lucha Bros won the opening bout when Briscoe pinned Daivari.

Match Grade: B-

Match Highlights: The Lucha Bros wore matching gear, Mark Sterling played his stooge role to perfection, Fenix defied logic and gravity, and Starks took a big jump before delivering a Spear.

Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks: Jericho faced off against Starks without the Jericho Appreciation Society by his side. Starks had his ribs taped up, and Jericho focused on that injury before hitting him with his bat. The Stroke Daddy then hit his finisher to secure the win.

Match Highlights: Starks kicked out of a Codebreaker, Jericho's veteran's triangle dropkick still looked good, and Starks hit a tornado DDT off the middle rope.

Last Burial Match: The match between Jack Perry and his former mentor, Christian Cage, was aggressive from the start. Perry caught up with Cage after he attempted to leave through the crowd and dumped a fan's beer on his head. Perry ended up in the casket but fought his way out before rolling Cage into it and scoring the win.

Match Highlights: Cage wore a sleeveless turtleneck, and he blew a kiss to Perry's sister sitting in the front row.
