Jones Submits Gane to Win Vacant UFC Heavyweight Title at UFC 285



On UFC 285's main card, Jon Jones returned to the octagon and defeated Ciryl Gane in a much-awaited bout for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship. MMA Fighting provided live blogs of all the main card fights and additional details from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the co-main event, Alexa Grasso defeated Valentina Shevchenko to win the UFC flyweight title with a rear-naked choke in the fourth round.

The main card also featured Shavkat Rakhmonov's third-round submission victory over Geoff Neal, Mateusz Gamrot's split decision victory over Jalin Turner, and Bo Nickal's first-round arm triangle submission win over Jamie Pickett.

In the preliminary card, Cody Garbrandt secured a unanimous decision win against Trevin Jones, Dricus Du Plessis scored a second-round TKO over Derek Brunson, and Amanda Ribas won a unanimous decision over Viviane Araujo.

Additionally, Marc-Andre Barriault won via second-round TKO against Julian Marquez, Ian Machado Garry secured a third-round TKO over Song Kenan, Cameron Saaiman won by majority decision over Leomana Martinez, Tabatha Ricci won via armbar submission in the second round against Jessica Penne, Farid Basharat won by unanimous decision over Da’Mon Blackshear, and Loik Radzhabov won by unanimous decision over Esteban Ribovics.
