Mason Greenwood Meets with Manchester United Executives Amid Ongoing Investigation

Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood, has reportedly had a face-to-face meeting with club executives as they continue their internal investigation into his recent legal troubles.

Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of rape and assault, but all criminal charges against him were recently dropped, allowing him to resume his football career. Manchester United has released a statement acknowledging the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service and stating that they will conduct their own process before deciding on next steps.

Since his charges were dropped, Greenwood has spoken to head coach Erik ten Hag and met with some of his teammates. However, he is not expected to play for the club this season as the club considers all options, including bringing him back into the first team, selling him, or terminating his contract.

According to The Sun, the club has now conducted a thorough investigation into the situation, with senior figures meeting with Greenwood and his team. A source quoted by the newspaper stated that the club wants to hear Greenwood's version of events before deciding how to move forward.

Greenwood has been with Manchester United since he was six years old and has scored 35 goals in 129 appearances for the club.
