Julius Randle's Clutch Shot Secures Eighth Straight Win for the New York Knicks

The New York Knicks have extended their winning streak to eight games after a nail-biting 122-120 victory over the Miami Heat on Friday night. Despite being the hero of the game, Julius Randle had a close call when his pocket was picked by Tyler Herro with less than 30 seconds left on the clock, allowing Miami to take the lead in a chaotic sequence.

Randle was almost picked again when Jimmy Butler knocked the ball away, but he managed to recover possession just in time to launch a desperation 3-pointer that went in with seven-tenths of a second remaining. The Heat were unable to get a shot up on the other end after a timeout, sealing the win for the Knicks.

Randle finished the game with 43 points, his fourth 40-plus point outing of the season. He made eight of his 13 3-pointers and has been performing impressively since the All-Star break, averaging 32 points a night on 54-percent shooting, including 50 percent from 3 on just under 11 attempts per game.

This win marks the second time in franchise history that the Knicks have had two win streaks of at least eight games in the same season, the last time being during the 1972-73 season when they won the championship. With the win, the Knicks maintain their position as the East's No. 5 seed The Knicks will attempt to make it nine wins in a row when they face the Celtics in Boston on Sunday night. With Randle's recent performances, the team is becoming one of the league's more exciting squads to watch.
