Ron DeSantis
Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, has advised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis not to run for president in 2024. However, Palin would support him if he were to run in the future, as she believes DeSantis is young and has many years ahead of him to potentially become president. Palin thinks that Trump has the best chance of winning the GOP nomination, and anyone who plans to challenge him has a lot of courage. She also hinted at the type of person Trump should select as his running mate in the next cycle: someone who, like him, has nothing to lose and has been through difficult experiences. Palin did not suggest that she was interested in running for the vice presidency, but she did express that running for office is an honor. In 2022, Palin lost two elections, first in a special election to represent Alaska's at-large congressional district, and then in the midterm elections as she sought a full term in the seat. Although DeSantis is one of the leading contenders in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, he has yet to enter the race. He recently hinted at a run after former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley announced her campaign, teasing the reporter by saying, "Wouldn't you like to know?"
